Frequently Asked Question

How far in advance should I visit a travel clinic before my trip?

We recommend visiting our travel clinic at least 6 to 8 weeks before your departure. Some vaccines require multiple doses over several weeks to be fully effective. However, even if you are travelling at short notice, it is still worth contacting us as some vaccines and medications can be administered closer to your travel date.

We stock a full range of antimalarial tablets including Atovaquone/Proguanil (Malarone), Doxycycline, and Mefloquine (Lariam). Our travel health pharmacist will advise on the most appropriate option based on your destination, duration of travel, and personal health history.

A travel health consultation is included as part of your appointment when booking vaccinations or travel medications with us. Our pharmacist will review your travel itinerary and medical history to recommend the most appropriate vaccinations and preventative treatments.

In many cases, yes. We can administer multiple vaccines in a single appointment where clinically appropriate. However, some vaccination schedules require multiple visits over a period of weeks. Our travel health team will advise you on the best plan during your initial consultation.

Because private vaccines are not subsidised by the NHS, there is a fee for the medicine and the clinical administration. Prices vary depending on the vaccine: for example, Typhoid is usually around £40, while a full Rabies course may be higher. Please view our full price list on the Vaccine Price page for the latest E2 rates.
